Color Blocking - So Easy & Fun!

Want to jazz up your scrapbook page layouts? Bold color blocking with cardstock is a simple and easy way to create your very own custom background that enhances the color scheme and tone of your layouts! Do you have little scraps hanging around the house and don't know what to do with them? Now, you can put thoses scraps to use for color blocking in your page layouts.

Items for this project: paper trimmer, adhesive tape and/or glue dots, scraps for color blocking & journaling, photo(s), and some embellishments.

Step 1: Select two or more colors of cardstock.

Step 2: Decide the size of each color block for your finished layout. Trim the cardstock based on this size accordingly. Choose colors that blend with the photo(s) or use bold colored cardstock to make your layout pop. Hint: Arrange the color blocking pieces in such a way as to create a layer looked or a series of smaller frames within the page. Be creative and have fun with it!

Step 3: Adhere tape and/or glue dots to create the color block background then add your photo(s) . You can leave a little space in between them or butting them right against each other.

Step 4: Add some embellishments, a title, and some journaling. Your done!
