Items for this project: Scrapbook exacto paper cutting tool, self healing cutting mat, spray adhesive, one 12 x 12 scrapbook paper or cardstock, scrapbook papers for matting photos, scrapbook double-sided tape or glue dots/squares, paper cutting trimmer, writing pen, brads and/or metal photos corners, and photo(s).
In the example scrapbook layout displayed, 'The Topics' scrapbook paper & the 'Jungle Brads' were used for this project.
We were on tropical family vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii when my husband decided to stop to take this photo. I have to say that there are many splendid waterfalls in the world. In my eyes, I believe Hawaii is one of those places!!! Step 1:Decide how many photos you want and arrange them on your main 12 x 12 scrapbook paper. In the example layout, I used one custom sized photo as a main focal point!
Step 2:To complement the photo(s) in the scrapbook layout, use paper a little larger than the actual size of your photo(s) as a background matte.
Step 3:Use a scrapbook exacto paper cutting tool to cut out all the designs you want from the patterned scrapbook paper and arranged them on the scrapbook paper. When cutting the designs remember to cut on the self healing cutting mat! In the example photo, I used
'The Topics' scrapbook paper (sold in our store at the time this article was written) on solid green background paper. This process takes some time, so allocate a little extra time than usual.
Step 4:
Arrange all the pieces onto your scrapbook layout, once you are happy with the design layout, continue to the next step.
Step 5:Use scrapbook double-sided tape or glue dots/squares to adhere each photo to the background matte paper and then adhere this to the scrapbook paper. Next, use the spray adhesive on the back of the pieces cut from the patterened scrapbooking paper and gently press each one onto the layout. Note: In the example layout, there are ferns, tropical flowers, and palm trees pieces that I randomly placed in the layout.
Step 6:Add some journaling using an acid-free, waterproof, and non-bleeding writer pen to tell the story! Add just a dash of fun jungle brads and/or metal photo corners for that extra touch. Your done!
